Lin Hao, a brave kid, was known to all Chinese in the Wenchuan quake, who was caught under rubbles but kept calm to cheer his classmates up waiting for outside help. He finally managed to crawl out alive, but returned for another trapped classmate. Confident and lucky boy succeeded saving two classmates’ lives, and impressed the whole country.
His appearance at the ceremony with Yao Ming, is a humane choice, which means every fellow Chinese that suffered the quake has been remembered by the nation.

It may not be easy to become a volunteer in 2008 Beijing Olympic Games

Wednesday, July 30th, 2008

As the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games approaches, more than 400,000 volunteers have been working at 550 street stalls around Beijing since July, providing information, emergency aid and translation services for people from around the world. A total of 74,615 volunteers will provide services at Games venues, the Olympic Village and media centers of the Olympic Games. In addition, one million “social volunteers” have been helping to keep traffic and maintain social order in the communities and townships of Beijing.

The 2008 Beijing Olympic Games will stimulate volunteering in the society
It is not like you want to be a volunteer, you go to an application point, and you become one. At least volunteering for the Beijing Olympic Games has strict requirements about language skills, appearances, energy and good health. All chosen volunteers are regrouped as where they work and get trained separately. News say 300 volunteers were picked from 70,000 applicants to work on awarding ceremony. They started complicated etiquette training since last August. Now time is up. I know you are all ready.

Bring Olympic Dreams to Darfur

Saturday, February 16th, 2008

Recently, a campaign named Bring Olympic Dreams to Darfur started disturbing China’s good will towards world peace through unreasonable threatening and finger pointing. The campaign led by Hollywood celebrity was supported by a big shot star, Steven Spielberg, who quitted his role as China’s Olympics artistic director.

Unexpectedly it only embarrass those campaigners, whose country United States should have kneel down to Iraqi people begging for forgiveness for the unhumanitarian caos caused after they liberated the land and executed their dictator. It really went a bit too ridiculous when calling on others to boycott 2008 Olympics if China failed to cut off all contact with Sudan government which include 200 million Pounds investments.

It sounds like a jealous neighbour who feel uneasy to see a nobody turn rich. To be honest, who else in the world have go that far to help develop Sudan on an equal basis with paramount real money and labour input? Who else really appreciate and respect the people and their culture there, to wish they could find their own way to unity and welfare?

The countries who colonized Africa for centuries and drained their treasure, can not wash blood off their hands. Do not pretend you did nothing, want nothing, and had nothing to do with separating Sudan in the first place.
