Keep Politics out of Sport

Wednesday, April 9th, 2008

I am very reluctant to reheat this argue now. But as cornered as China is at present, my silence may prove I feel guilty or remorseful, and some activists may wrongly get that China gets no support from their people.

What happened in Paris, is dispointing.  Deeply shocked to see varied raced non-Tibetans approached that close to torch relayers and grab their torches. Were the French Police properly trained? Certainly not. At least not as qualified as London police, and American police, who did restrain rioters.

Who is politicalising the Games? Frankly, China has many actions to beautifulize Beijing’s environment for international guests, so that they could see we are better.  But before any praises arrive,  international criticisms flooded in out of control. Even a simple Olympic torch relay parade can be sabotaged by furious activists.

If different voices, which can be  violent, are essential in West Democracy, I prefer Chinese Democracy, because I fear some voices in West Democracy is not natural, but a profession. I mean, if an activist, who do not know neither where Tibet is, nor where China is, was paid great for just a day’s job, why not?
